Katie Quick is an award-winning singer/songwriter, teacher, life coach, mental health counselor, motivational speaker, and founder of The Fingertips Program. Katie has a masters degree in Counseling from Northwestern University and has done clinical counseling, coaching, teaching and speaking with youth and adults since 2004. With over 7 years as a classroom teacher, Katie has taught students from preschool through 8th grade in five different subject areas. She most recently created a social-emotional learning curriculum focused on self-awareness and personal growth for youth that she teaches to 900 students weekly in the Chicago Public Schools.
Katie uses her infectious energy, magnetic speaking ability and dazzling musical talent to empower kids to believe in themselves and pursue their dreams without fear. Inspirational, genuine, strong and kind, her no-nonsense approach along with her warm and inviting presence allows her to easily and authentically connect to kids of all ages, races, and socioeconomic backgrounds. Katie has worked with over 1 million kids since 2004, making her one of the most sought after speakers and performers in the Chicagoland area.
In addition to her extensive educational and clinical work, Katie had an impressive career as an independent artist in Nashville. She is the writer and producer of three award-winning albums, including Be the Change, Valley Between Love, and Endless Road, and has appeared on numerous television and radio stations across the globe, including ABC's Katie Couric Show, NBC, CMT, and more. She made her Broadway debut in Rock of Ages in 2013 and was the winner of such prestigious awards as The John Lennon Songwriting Competition for her song "The Exit" which gives hope to LGBTQ youth and Album of the Year in the Independent Music Awards for her self-produced sophomore album, Valley Between Love. Katie toured extensively throughout the United States and Africa, and has had her music played on stations throughout England, Sweden, and Australia. She has also shared the stage with such musical legends as Peter Frampton, performing unabashedly as a standout solo artist in front of thousands.
