"I have had the distinct privilege to observe several of Katie's Fingertips Programs. To see the impact this program can have on the children was inspirational! Children love to hear personal stories. The Fingertips Program is a story with a powerful message to EACH child on the value of following their dreams and to ALWAYS believe in themselves!" -Donna on The Fingertips Program
Singer/Songwriter, Teacher, Author
Singer/Songwriter/Author Donna Mucks recreated her life after the loss of her job as a Mathematics Teacher. In a moment of prayer and contemplation she was inspired by a drop of dew on her cheek to write a song! She knew two chords on the guitar and didn't know how to read or write music, but that didn't stop her! In the 10 years since that dew drop, she has released two CD's, "Walking" and "Faith and Service" and authored the book "Good Days Are for Walking." Donna's music is best described as Folk, guided by her faith and often inspired by nature. Listening to Donna’s music can melt away the stress of a long and hectic day. She has learned to take the sometimes sour lemons of life and make sweet lemonade. This is especially evidenced in "Good Days Are for Walking," where she took something that some would consider tragic and turned it into something hopeful, helpful and healing.
"I will never forget the weekend the seed for Fingertips was planted! It was an inspired 24 hours, and I have watched it grow and develop over the past five years into a wonderful, empowering program for our youth. Fingertips is inspring, truthful, and real! When they leave an assembly the students know... "they've got the world at their Fingertips." -Donna on The Fingertips Program.
